There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn all there is to know about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
Thank you to all who attended the October Oyster Roast and Low Country Boil at our home this past Saturday, we had a great turn out of 30 people, which is one of the largest gatherings in 2 years. I really appreciate those who came out and brought their delicious dishes to accompany the main course. Phylis Spearman also attended the party and thanked the club for the brick placed at the Corvette Museum and how much it meant to Hoyt’s family.
Since we did have a quorum of members, Les Preston proposed we establish our club as a 501-3c non-profit so that we can raise money for charities that the club wants to support. The motion was seconded and passed. We look forward to many new ventures with this action. We also briefly talked about the Christmas Party, and it was decided that we would have it catered versus “Potluck”, however we will still be doing Dirty Santa, if you would like to participate, please bring a wrapped gift of a value of no more than $25. As soon we nail down a menu will let you know.
We are looking forward to the Veteran Day Parade for our November Cruise, please if you have not already, let us know if you are going to participate. As soon as we hear where and what time we need to line up we will let you know.
We are making plans for the cruise to the Corvette Museum in August of 2024, hoping we can have a good turnout, we will require deposits as we start booking hotels. More information to come.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at future events!

10 Reason to be Thankful this year!
Intro
It is time for us to give thanks for all that the Corvette world has given us in 2023. There have been a lot of exciting Corvette developments over the course of the year, and we are taking a moment to celebrate the top ten reasons to be thankful for Corvette. Of course, it has not been all rainbows and happiness in 2023. There have been reports of issues with the transmission in the C8, Chevrolet dealer service doesn’t deliver a premium experience, and some greedy dealers are still trying to ruin our fun with large markups. But overall, we are thankful, and these are the reasons why.
10. We own a Corvette.
That says it all. If you are in the club, chances are you own a Corvette.
9. C8 Prices / ADMs Coming Down
Finally, prices are starting to drop on the C8 Corvettes. The days of C8 Stingrays going for above MSRP on the used market are just about done. The Z06 and E-Ray are still subject to above sticker pricing, but the margins on those cars are beginning to shrink as well. GM is building a lot of these, and they are not as hard to find as they once were. Enthusiasts that want a C8 Corvette can now get one a bit easier. And the flippers out there that bought just for a profit are not making as much money as they once did, and we are thankful for that as well.
8. Over 50,000 Corvettes Built
This is tied to the previous point. GM is cranking these cars out. It is only the third time in history that GM cracked the 50K mark in a single model year. About 5,000 of these were Z06 models. The C8 Corvette is not rare. And we love that. The Corvette was never about being a rare collectible car. It is an attainable sports car. And we are finally starting to see that again.
7. New Colors for 2024 Model Year
The C8 Corvette is largely a carryover for 2024. But there are some fun new colors on offer. Riptide Blue Metallic (color code GJV), Cacti Green (GVR) and Sea Wolf Gray Tricoat (GXA) all join the fold in 2024. Color is a personal choice, but we think all of these new shades look amazing on the Corvette.
6. C8 Stingray Still THE Performance Bargain
With the prices falling the C8 Stingray becomes an even better performance bargain. A 2020 or 2022 Stingray with low miles and in excellent shape can now be had in the low $70K range. And for that you get legit supercar performance.
5. Incredible E-Ray Acceleration
It is a hybrid. It is all-wheel drive. Those things may cause some Corvette purists to turn up their noses. But no one can turn up their nose at the mind-bending acceleration. 60 mph hits in about 2.5 seconds. It is close to what is seen out of the quickest EVs on the market. But with the E-Ray you still get that glorious V8 soundtrack.
4. LT6 Engine
Yes, there have been reports of engine failures. But that does not take away from the fact that the LT6 engine is an all-time great. It is like nothing else ever before installed in a Corvette. It provides incredible performance and a sound that rivals the best exotics in the world.
3. C6 Corvettes Became Incredible Used Bargains
We already have covered the bargain that the C8 has become. But go back to the years of 2005 to 2013 and you can get a stonking good deal on a C6 Corvette. You can easily land a very nice example from this era for less than $30K. And you are getting a 400 or 430 horsepower machine with all the performance you can reasonably ask for. For about the price of a new Chevy Malibu. Insane.
2. C8 Family Now Has Three World Beating Models
The C8 Corvette family has now grown to include the Stingray, Z06 and E-Ray. They are all world beaters. And there are more C8 models on the way. The performance that is available in the modern Corvette is truly staggering. We are extremely thankful for that.
1. Z06 GT3.R
The Corvette Z06 GT3.R racecar was revealed early this year and is scheduled to compete at the 2024 Rolex 24 At Daytona. This car is heavily based on the Z06 road car. The engine in the race car shares 70 percent of its components with the production Z06. We can’t wait to see it hit the racetrack and show the world just what the Corvette team is capable of.
